Bad news first: this book only has a selected few colour pictures of recipes. Most recipes therefore await your own "serving suggestion".
Ani's YouTube recipes and creations on her blog are so simple and tasty that I didn't even think to consider the contents of her book before buying. I
was initially disappointed to see that nearly all the printed book was in black and white. Ten minutes later I had forgotten all about that and as I
was busily marking up what I was going to uncook for the coming week! Her recipe ideas are so simple, quick and MEGA-tasty that they have a force of
their own that doesn't need to be justified with photographic evidence. You have to take into consideration where she is based (California) and that
her family has a date farm as lots of recipes include dates and sweet fruits. I just leave them out of a lot of recipes and they still taste great.
Another slight disappointment is that there is only one green juice and no green smoothies compared to the many fruit smoothy recipes. All the salads
are a sure-fire hit, though, and this brings back the balance in her favour. All the quick and easy dressings are 'lish. The loveliest little
condiment is not in any recipe but the way she sprinkles tips about raw vegan living throughout the book. While you flick through the recipes you
can't help but be inspired by her messages and information that the food choices you are making by being raw vegan are super-trendy for the
environment, not just your own cells. Raw vegan folk leading a busy life, this one is also the winner for a quick dinner. You'll pull this one off the
shelf first for ideas everytime.
